Ok so I got a target brand cat tree for free! Its nice, the cats like the big tube for climbing. I HATE IT!! Its a big blue eyesore. they have antoher perch thats got the two holes and is carpeted, they ignore it! they also have a little cubby hole that they ignore. NONE of them venture up to the top of it but spent most of the weekend on my moms cat tree when we visited (she has 6 foot celeings and the windows up near the top so she has a cat walk going aoound the room). Any ideas of a better tree? Im crafty!

I've never seen a target brand climbing tree but maybe you can wrap the big tube in some fabric or some carpet to pretty it up.

Mine are fickle, too! Martha Stewart has the coolest cat tree project using a thick piece of wood as the base, and a fallen y-shaped tree limb. I built one but broke up with my boyfriend before it was finished lol It's rustic/natural and really beautiful. Who knows if the cats would have gone on it (hers did, naturally). And I saw the coolest cat shelving/cat walk project using ordinary wall shelves staggered at different heights along one wall, very sculptural. It was built by a Japanese cat owner. I'm not sure about link policy here but I think you can find both by Googling.
