So I think this goes here. My Korean Friend just had his birthday so for his birthday present I got him a bottle of wine and made him a counter or table wine holder. I work with his wife and I asked her what I could put on the plaque in the center and we settled on "Cheers" in Korean. The base is made out of a rafter that came from a salvage yard. It came from a 100 year old house. The uppers were made from a piece of pallet wood. I wanted to keep it rough and keep the saw cuts on the rafter. I used a walnut stain on the wood and then sealed it with lacquer. The plaque is from a piece of firewood that I had outside, cut a round out of it and wood burned it. Then I added some felt to the cradles on the uppers.

Funny side story, I found my wood burner but I had lost the slanted pointed tip for it. I had a piece of brass round stock so I filed down the end to make a slanted point and then cut it to length and put it in the wood burner. Worked pretty well.

Overview with Wine bottle.
