For a new baby I always do a quilt of some kind, something from our childhood. I watched the movie a hell of a lot of times and sketched out the characters then painted them onto fabric. After it was dry I free motion quilted each one for more texture. This one was hard and not just because I can't get the song out of my head. There's more info and pictures on my blog but here's a few, I really need to improve on the quilting. I feel like a junkie when I'm doing it.

We don't even care that we don't even care...

Tiny people!

The hardest one to paint! Also I sewed on some Angelina fiber on the back and head, it's shiny fuzzy.

Angled view of the quilting:

You do not even know how happy you just made me! I love love love The NeverEnding Story!!!! This quilt is beautiful and I never thought to paint and then make a quilt. I love to paint, so I am definitely going to try this. Did you use fabric paint? I assume this is a quilt you have to spot clean and not throw in the washer? Thank you so much for opening my eyes to a new project.

It's more of a wall art quilt. I used artist acrylics, utrecht mainly. I've done others but I started because I was never really confident in my painting skills. Now though I sew for texture and to improve my free motion quilting.
