Why, thanks you guys, I'm glad you like it.

Alwaysinmyroom-the basket's not crocheted, it's woven like a traditional egg basket. I'd love to learn to crochet, though. Oh, and funny you mention how neat and precise my 'quilt' blocks are. I try soooo hard to get the pieces exact but it's damn near impossible, hence the black borders. Wonderful the imperfections that a thick black marker can hide Wink

Junk4joy, did you use paper or fabric for your log cabin piecing, or both? Glued or stitched in place? I really like the end result.

SOS, you're bringing such a great variety of crafting skills to Craftster. I  especially love your lettering and drawing since those aren't skills I have.

Alex, glad to see another guy joining in. Males are currently in the minority here, but you give me encouragement that it's changing.

The log cabins are just paper and glue on cardboard, outlined with black marker.  I have been contemplating trying to make a qr code with the envelope ones, but I'm not sure if there's enough contrast for it to work. I'd be so disappointed if I went to that much effort and it failed.

Qr code? I've never heard that term. What does it mean?

Those little scrambled squares in advertisements.   One can access them with smart phones and such and they are like links to other things on the web

Thanks for the info. I know what you're talking about now. Just never knew they had a name. Makes me feel even older than I am! Grin

Junk4Joy, your work is incredible! I'm so glad you shared. That basket is really cool - what a great look! I thought the log cabin mosaic was stained glass!! Absolutely beautiful.

Ah!  Glad I stumbled upon this board!!  Shocked

Hello everyone!  My name is Nichole - I'm a craft-aholic/Art-aholic and new to craftster.  I've been learning my way around the site, eagerly awaiting the day I can jump into swapping.

I live in North Carolina with my Husband, cat and two huskies.  I recently dove headfirst into being a full-time Artist, quitting my job and I haven't looked back since! I dabble in a variety of things and am always looking to learn something new and I think craftster is the perfect place to do just that.

Here are some of the things I've done:

The above is a portrait I completed of a family member using pinned paper punched pieces from various magazines on foam-core board.

Above are  various Artist Trading Cards I recently completed as practice for jumping into the ATC Swap.  These were really fun to make!

A few works in progress are below:

A commissioned illustration I'm finishing using Sharpies on Canvas.

A drawing I'm working on for my mom using graphite and charcoal pencils.

I'm super excited to  get to know my fellow crafty people and make some new friends!!

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
