I jumped in with both feet and got swallowed up to my ears!! I really enjoy Craftster and have been more of a troll over the past 2 months. Burning myself out was not a good idea. (Nor having a craptastic 2 months of living nightmares at work!) Since I am taking a mental health vacation, Hubby is taking a vacation and the kids are back in school, I feel more relaxed and not so overwhelmed. But here is what I have actually worked on trying to not go too far round the bend in the last two months. So sorry about the dumping and crummy photos, someday Ill set up the tripod so I dont have shaky pictures!

This was for the Summer Nerd Games August Battle but I didnt finish it until today. It is inspired by R2D2 as Star Wars is the tie that binds my big family! All generations!

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, a quote that I have often spoken in the hell realm that is my workplace. I didnt like the blue with teal so I took out all my blue stitches and restitched with orange. I am working on a foam board frame for this so I can hang it at my desk.

I like the look of pressed flowers and had pansies coming up like dandelions this year. All volunteers from last years plantings that went to seed. They are so pretty and I am planning (adding this to the 17 volumes of Crafts I plan to do before I die books) on making paper with the petals in it. So here is the second pressing from this year (I have 4 pressings from last year).

I dont like to quiltIve made them badly in the past. But I LOVE quilts. I found this amazing tutorial for a Disappearing 9 Patch quilt here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=422253.0#axzz2dgUNUHtM. I had to try it because the directions were so simple and perfection seemed to be optional. I did it and my mom, who is a master of everything she tries, was blown away by the top and said she wants me to show her how to do it!!! A big honor in my heart! Now I just have 3 steps left: 1. Sew on a binding/edging of sorts; 2. Sew on the polar fleece I got for a backing; 3. Tie, tie, tie!!!

I like your top. Just a little bit of correction to your list. Your number 1 should be last.  You'll want to baste the top to the fleece backing (safety pins work) or you'll want it in a quilting frame if you have that. Then you'll want to tie it with yarn, or whatever you are using. Finally you'll want to bind it.

I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Chuckiegirl - Nice to see your D9P top. Reminds me that I have one started, but have never diced it up and finished it. Think seeing yours may be just the push I need to get back to my own. Thanks for the inspiration!

I just joined today. I'm a total beginner and really need to do more samplers. I dabble in
a lot of things, but really like embroidery. Here is one of my first embroideries that I did
with some yarn I received in a trade (i used to make soap) and an old piece of burlap.

I didn't have any 'proper' embroidery tools yet. But I really enjoy it.

Here is my flickr link to other things I've done or do. Smiley

I hope that's not too much info!

That's so awesome! It really captures the wildness of the beast.

CraftLadyMJ - I am completely with you on the whole confusion about acting your age! I am adult. Therefore, old enough to be silly when I want and not care about what some kids in class think of me. It's quite freeing, really! Especially with other people like you! Friends make being silly more fun!

I am currently working on this cross stitch from a pattern in the latest cross stitcher magazine. I have probably worked on it for 15 hours so far and still have a zig zag background to work on as well as finishing the dark green outline.

Oh that's brilliant! I've always been curious: is cross-stitcher magazine worth it? What about other magazines?
