So adorable! Thank you so much! This is going to be great fun to do for the kiddos! Any suggestions on sizing it smaller...sorry not the most skilled at adapting patterns...didn't know if there was a general rule of thumb that would help me figure it out...
The finished hat had a lot of stretch so it got my 10 year old daughter as well as myself so that's why I sized it "adult". If you wanted to make a child size (4-8 years old) I would decrease the hook size. I used an H so you could go down to an F. If you wanted to make infant/toddler size I would start the hat with 4 stitches inside the magic loop instead of 6. I hope this cleared it up for you, happy hooking!

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know!! Can't wait to try these!!!

Thank you so much for the pattern. I adapted it to make my dd's favorite minion from the second movie. I can't post pics yet, but here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fibercrazed/10584231536/

Shocked Ok! This is awesome! And it made me learn how to do a magic circle! I always had been doing things like a chain, and then I had a crummy looking circle!

Ok, so my tension is a bit firm, but if you use a smaller hook, it makes the cutest toddler/baby hat. When you use a larger hook, you get a slightly bigger hat. Because my tension is FIRM, I used a bigger hook. If I needed a bit more room, I just added 2 more single crochet in the magic circle.

I have made Hello Kitty, a minion, a sad attempt of 'Mater (looks like a beaver), and just a stripey hat. I would not have been able to do this unless I had this pattern! Yay!
