I was very suddenly diagnosed with colorectal cancer at the end of last month, which turned into a whirlwind of surgeries, tests and coming to terms with chemo and radiation therapies very very quickly. I haven't been able to craft much over the last few weeks since my colon resection surgery (they removed a 12inch long tumor and 16in of my colon and rectum *total*) but as I am three weeks from my surgery I am starting to feel like crafting again. One of the first things that I found myself able to do as I reclined in bed was make Thank You cards for all of the various staff of the ER, Clinics, and hospital units that I was in for several days at the beginning of the month. I gave my surgeon one today for him and his amazing staff after he implanted my chemo IV port into my upper right chest. The other cards are for the hospital unit nurses that cared for me before and after my surgery, another for the ER staff that finally found my cancer and admitted me to the hospital, one for the GI specialist who gave me my colonoscopy and gently relayed the news to my GF, and so on...I think I may need to make another set now that I think about it.

These are made with scrap paper, cardstock, and origami paper with gold ink, glitter ink, and green dot details. I really enjoyed getting my hands moving after such a shock.... Hope you like them!
