This shirt was a friend's, great colors, boxy shaping, sleeves too short, just not a good fit. I love the colors, the tie dye patterns and the fabric is a nice coarse cotton weave.

I took it all apart, keeping only the lacing detail on the front. The sleeves became the sides for more width and other bits and pieces made the straps, facings, and such. This was not an easy reconstruct, it just did not come together well and there were many fittings, pinnings and restitchings. But it is just about perfect now and very comfortable and cool despite the dark colors.

What a good idea to use the sleeves to add width for fit!

I love the colors and am glad that you saved a nice piece of fabric by rethinking the design!

I love all of your projects! Grin
