I <3 the cookie, though I'm just a little confused by your instructions.....Co
uld you possibly do some pictures or photos or something?
Thanks!
Yeah, my original instructions suck. I'll try to write it out like a regular pattern.
KNITTED COOKIE - instructions for one biscuit
1. Cast on 8 sts.
2. Knit 32 rows. You should have 16 garter-stitch ridges.
3. Cast off.
4. Gather one of the side edges. To do this, thread a needle with the yarn and pass the needle through the bump at the end of each garter-stitch ridge. Pull tightly and tie off.
5. Sew up the cast-on and cast-off edges. Turn it inside out. You should have what looks like a little hat.
6. Gather the other side edge and tightly tie it off (same as step 4).
7. You now have what looks like a deflated beach ball. Take the centres of the balls (i.e. the gathered and tied-off side edges) and squish them together. Sew a few sitches through the centres to keep the "beach ball" flat.
This recipe will make one biscuit. To make an Oreo cookie, make one white biscuit and two brown ones and sew them together.
I'll do some photos this weekend.

Thanks for the instructions...they cleared it up somewhat. Now I have only to find some brown wool. I'm still looking forward to the pics, though.

knitted cookie - tutorial with pics

My apologies, nushybum. I got distracted by sewing pillows.
But, better late than never!
KNITTED COOKIE - instructions for one biscuit
1. Cast on 8 sts.
2. Knit 32 rows. You should have 16 garter-stitch ridges.
You can see the ridges easily if you stretch out the knitting. I've highlighted 3 ridges here.
3. Cast off.
4. Gather one of the side edges. To do this, thread a needle with the yarn and pass the needle through the bump at the end of each garter-stitch ridge. I've highlighted the next 2 ridges so you can see what I mean.
Pull tightly...
Really tight! And tie it tightly too.

I'm having a cookiegasm! I love this purse, the brown color is very fitting like the color of oreo cookies and milk mixed together. I especially love the knitted cookie and the milk patch. Can't say anything bad about this.

This may sound a little naive but I just started knitting...
Is there such thing as a knitting pattern? I mean, I have just been making scarves (pretty easy.) I'm self taught from a how-to instruction paper and am starting to get into knitting. If there are patterns, where could I get a pattern for the purse above? And is it something I should wait until I'm more experienced? Last question (I promise!), I have knit purse I bought from some lady off the street in Los Angeles, she sewed a liner like you did. Anything special about doing that?
Again, sorry if the questions seem a little naive!! Thanks!
