I'm not sure how long I get to say I am new at this...but I still feel new.  Also, I wasn't sure but it seemed like this was the place to post these...

A mixed media, canvas board I have hanging in my office at work now.

I have been doing an art journal swap but this is the first journal I am doing for myself.  It's curiously small and I LOVE that, 5 1/2 by 2 3/4 inches.

Love all the texture on your canvas!  Do feel free to share what you did, mixed media is such a fun way to incorporate many techniques and art supplies Smiley

General list of supplies used:
canvas board
natural twine
bead from a lone earring
tiny piece of black ribbon
tiny ribbon flower
red plastic bag from onions
acrylic paint
stamps
Staz-on ink
scraps of paper
embossing powder, embossing ink and heat gun

First:  glued down scraps of paper, fairly randomly, covered the whole thing

Second:  mixed about half/half gesso/gel medium to make a texture paste; smooshed on with used gift card, using a repetitive square stencil

Third.....heck I don't know at this point, acrylic paint with sponge...stick more stuff, cut out cardboard flower petals, acrylic paint, embossing powder, heat....and so on.

:-)
gesso
gel medium
E-6000
tacky glue

hehe I love how mixed media always ends up with "stick more stuff on, put more layers of paint etc. on" Grin  i've never tried a mix of gesso and gel medium, I think its a great idea for making small batches of texture medium-you could mix sand or those tiny little beads in.  thanks for sharing your process!

Thanks Victoria!!  I have more pages in my tiny journal complete but I have them posted on my blog and I don't want you to see my blog until you receive your art journal back ;-)
