That's great! how old is he?

If he plans to do an other one let him use the sewing machine. My son made aprons for several family members last Christmas and I pinned the fabric with safety pins and drew clearly visible sewing lines on the fabric.
He had a blast using the machine. I did help guiding the fabric occasionally but most of the time he managed to sew close to the line. Just make sure he's not tired and stays focused.
My boy gets easily distracted by technical stuff and it's better to use a really simple sewing machine. Otherwise he tries to figure out what the different buttons do while he's sewing.

My little guy is 8. I'm going to get both of my kiddos a sewing machine they can share that is a little more easier for them to use.

Is the pattern 3D?  It looks like it from the pics.  Would you guys be willing to share the pattern?
Yes it is 3d & I'm totally willing to share! I'll scan in the pattern pieces soon!  Wink Thank you for rocking it!

This is the machine I got for the kids. It's tiny and lightweight and easy to use, but I don't believe it's available outside Germany.

Ikea has a nice one, too. Same price range, but a little larger and heavier and some extra stitches.
There is a good review of that one on ikatbag.

Your son is absolutely awesome and you are even more awesome for encouraging this project and the ones that will inevitably follow!  Grin

I still have the first thing I sewed as a kid and it sits on my shelf in the craft room.

This is awesome...the little guys project, and that you are helping and encouraging him to be creative!!!  At this age it's important to let their minds and little hands soar...the possibilities are endless as the creative world opens to them.  Grin

Dear Crafty Boy - I too started sewing young.  I made many fun things.  And still do.  I am very excited that you are a FEATURED PROJECT!  I was a featured project in the last round.  I did a seahorse.  I was bummed that I was replaced until I saw just how wicked cool is your Pac Man Ghost.  Congratulations Crafty Boy!

Over the moon to have been a featured project! I will get the pattern added to this. My boy had it in his backpack when he had an overnight at his grandma's...so it's either there, or lost in his room somewhere.  Roll Eyes
