Sometimes I have no idea where I'm going with something until it's finished.  This one has elements of "home" in it, or finding your way there, or maybe finding your way out.

I love this bee.  It's a Mod Melts bee! Painted and inked.  Base is inked chipboard.

Closeup of the keyhole and house.

My favorite part of the substrate.

Thanks for looking!

I love the bee as well and its verdigris base (always my favourite Grin)  I like the collagy background with the 3-D elements on your piece.  I'm interested in what kind of papers and adhesive you used for the background?

Oh dear.  Well, I'm rather ashamed to mention that my theory of adhesives generally begins with the question of which bottle, pot, or tube is nearest at hand.

I use glass glue if the E6000 is buried under sheaves of papers and detritus (this is the norm).  Also glue sticks, Mod Podge, gel medium, and I hold a special place in my heart for Aleene's quick dry Tacky Glue.

Papers - for this one I rummaged through this great stack of recipes and newsprint that I found in a ziplock baggie at a flea market.  Also some old labels, scrapbooking paper, and the objects are mounted on some cardstock (I literally chopped up a card).

Thanks!

So much layered loveliness! I love all the winged elements, and the grungeyness (is that a word? Cheesy) of this piece.
