What cuties!  They look so inquisitive.  And I have learnt something new... what a rat boggle is (and have just spent the last 20mins or so watching youtube videos!).  I hope Scruffy is doing well, it sounds like you are giving her great care.  How old are your rats?  Do they all live in the same cage?

More about my beasts.  They are rescue guinea pig brothers. I have had them for just over 2 years, and I guess that they were about 6mths old when we got them.  They were originally called Tom & Jerry, but I felt this implied a hierarchy ( Cheesy), so they got renamed, Mark & Jeremy (after the tv show, Peep Show - I previously had guinea pigs named after characters in the tv show Porridge).  They are very much best of friends, and often sleep cuddled up with each other.

Mark is the grumpiest guinea pig I have ever had!  When he wants to he can be lovely, will sleep on your lap, lick your fingers and snuggle up.  But when doesn't, he will give me a barge with his nose, teeth chatter, bite & even pee on me!  He had a bladder stone removed earlier this year, and was quite unwell, and gave us a little bit of a fright.  But now he is back to his grumpy self!  Here he is being guinea pig shamed!

Jeremy is lovely.  He is a quite a soppy guinea pig, who is also a bit of a scaredy cat with a big appetite.  He is not the brightest, but he super sweet.  Here he is looking very clean after his yearly bath...

Aww what gorgeous piggies! Scruffy the rat seems very like Mark in that she can be really snugly or really grumpy! I'm not sure how old they are, as they are rescues with no background info. I have worked out that scruffy is about 18 months, Nony about seven and Blacky and Lola about 4-5 months.

I have kept rats for about 8 years now, I had to have a break between my last ones and these girls as they do not live long enough and it can be heart breaking, but was going mad without them, so I got some more eventually, was meant to be waiting until after the wedding but as often happens one day I saw a face in pets at home adoption centre, and I couldn't resist. I never buy direct from pet shops, but the adoption bit is different in my mind.

They do all live in the same cage. Sorry I forgot non ratty people wouldn't know what a boggle is. They also brux which is chattering their teeth, a bit like guinea pigs, but in a rat it is more often than not a sign of being happy.

LOL I just happen to notice no other chinnie parents. Grin.
And since I can't really dress them up like all the other parents here can dress their babies up, I didn't really know what could be crafted for them.
But yeah! They are adorable! Thanks
Everyone I know are like "You got a what?" "What's that?".  Roll Eyes Five years and they still don't get it.
Happy to be aboard.

Personally (no offence meant to anyone) I can't imagine anything worse than dressing pets up, especially not small ones. The only time it does not bug me is when it is for the dogs benefit, ie a warm coat for one who feels the cold.

Not totally sure what chinnies can have but for some idea what you could ask for:

Hammock
Bed
Wooden house
Treat jar
Homemade treats
Toys
Something for nibbling and keeping teeth good

etc etc etc

Hope this helps!

Yeah me too.
But....
Halloween I believe can be an exception too. I LOVE Halloween. Grin. I just dress Dahlia up (She's an Extra Large German Shepard but even then nothing fits.)LOL. Forget about dressing cats. Tongue
I actually had to bail out of the Mini 13 Days of Halloween  :' . To many things happening past month to handle the swap.I'm just gonna stick to one swap for now.

I tend to make the heavier stuff (with the help of hubbie of course) like shelves.
http://www.simplychintastic.com/ LOVE their stuff but I always manage to miss their ordering deadline, again.. Roll Eyes
