I finished one patch today, almost finished a second one, and started a third.  I have a a few questions about the kit.  Just how "close to finished" is it supposed to be?  Do we have the fabric pieces all cut and ready to simply stitch, embellish, and quilt or do we send the fabric uncut with a pattern?  Do we add an assortment of embellishments and let our partners choose how (or whether) to use them or do we include only embellishments that fit our own idea of how the finished patch should look?  If there are multiple fabrics to be pieced do we pre-piece them?  If this has all been addressed already I apologize for not realizing it.

you could do any of those things really. as i understand it the fabric is cut, you can do either way for embellishments, let them choose or have a drawn on paper idea design they could do. i like the idea of letting them choose but including a drawn design incase they want to do that design maybe?

we only have to include one set of  material for the kit. (this means 2 different precut fabrics, maybe some embellishments, thread, needle or whatnot. needlebook would be rockin. just throwin out ideas. we also discussed the quirky option of arting up a bandaid for the kit lol. optional of course just a quirky idea lol. the kit goes in a regular ziplock. but feel free to be as crafty as you want!!!!

Thanks artista, this is my first experience putting together a kit for a swap package (that I can remember anyway Tongue) so I want to make sure I get it right.

I've been seeing your posts about not being able to eat well since your surgery.  Slowly add things in that you want and see what happens.  I was told that I wouldn't be able to eat nuts, seeds, spicy foods, fatty foods, or leafy greens after my gall bladder came out and I can eat all of those things just as well as I could before the surgery.

I looked at the second patch I made and suddenly just thought it was hideous.  The "idea" is great and it looked really good as it went, but when it was finished it was horrible.  Oh well, I guess that's just the way it happens sometimes.  Luckily send outs are still far enough away for this not to be a reason to panic.

I used my simplest ideas for the patch kits and made my more time consuming ideas into the actual patches.  So my partners are really getting basic kits with a short description of my idea for that patch but easy enough to alter.  I didn't think to add needles, and in one kit I even forgot to add stuffing (i just realized).   I was so excited to get them in the mail (I mailed my last patches off today), but it would have been neat to add needlebooks!  I did throw in a tiny extra for each so I feel really good all around.  Making these patches were soooo fun!  Now I can sit back and breath for a minute while I wait to see all these patches

I don't eat red meat or pork so I really can't say how that would go.  I do know that within weeks I was eating everything I had eaten before the surgery with no problems at all.  Good luck.

Hi Pardners - I'm not going to make a needlebook nor include needles nor stuffing.  But I certainly wouldn't protest receiving them  Cheesy
And as for the kits, I'm assuming that anything goes.  Just that whatever I send out is something I'm proud of and would like to receive myself.  Sound good?
Happy day making tons and tons of basil pesto today.  Yum.  The freezer is loading up for the winter with decadent deliciousness.  Maybe I will stuff my patches with basil.  Just kidding!
