*DROOL*

-Dreadlocklove's yarn pic makes me think it should smell like a woodpile and moss in the fall. Weird, but that's how my brain works Tongue
-CAMEL MITTENS! What an oxymoron, but I love it Tongue
-And I agree with nikschaf's son, "fireworks" is a perfect name for her sparkly yarn Cheesy

I'm still spinning alpaca, only an ounce left to go before I decide if I'm spinning the jumbo batt the same way as the two normal batts. I'm also STILL correcting the tpi of my green laceweight singles, UGH *HEAD DESK*.

I did, however, finish plying the purple stuff. I got it as waste from World of Wool, and I think it's "heavenly." It came out at a nice DK/worsted, two-plied. I haven't set or measured it yet.

That purple is really pretty, Alexus.  Remind me, did you dye that?

Alexus, why did you post that link to World of Wool? I want it all! That was waste fiber? Waste? That? Maybe it's your touch but that does not look like waste to me. Cheesy

Ginger, You are lucky. The closest thing to a LYS around here is in my friend's studio.

I'm spinning the raw fleece that my friend gave me a couple years ago. 2 weeks in a row I've been spinning it at the market and it still barely feels like I've made a dent in it, after 3 small bobbins full! I met a guy today who wants me to NOT wash it but make it into a scarf for him, like raw and itchy and full of VM and lanolin and all. I think he's crazy but I'm excited for an assignment! I'll share the progress with you guys, if you want me to.

I would definitely love to see that and see how the scarf ends up.

Here's a start of my journey. Well, I guess it's more of a middle because the beginning was 2 years ago when I got the nasty sack of wool and last year when I finished washing what I could before I popped out a 3rd kid and then this year when I finally carded it all into these rolags

and now spinning it into these singles

Yay!

That yarn is really squishy looking, Dreadlocklove!
Gingerknitter, those are all gorgeous. Are you spinning the camel from the cloud? Or are you carding it?
Niks, that's such a fun colorway! love the Sparkle.
MLF, Dang.  That puppy is damn cute. We almost got one. Almost. We decided to rescue instead, and got the fluffiest dog.  I brushed her out and my 8 year old said "MOM! She has WOOL! It's a total bonus! You can spin it!!"  lol

I've taken a picture of my TdF spins. It's approximately 20oz (shy of my 32 oz goal) but likely enough for a sweater. And really if I run out i have more to spin!

Jexxi, I can see why he wants a scarf like that!  You might want to do a final rinse using unscented conditioner though.

Bella, loving on that yarn.

I really like the English Shepherd breed.  They are so smart and learn so quickly!  Bonus is they have a nice crimp in their undercoat and it is wonderful to spin!!!

how on earth did I miss that there was a second page... Sorry!
Alexus, that's looks lovely!
Jexx, it's lumpy and bumpy and will be gorgeous. though I bet he washes it once he get's it home and lets it sit for a while.... I've done that, and decided after it sat for 4 months it really really really needed to be washed, it stank!!

Nyar, my response never went through last night. Darn Galaxy S4 has the crappiest wifi EVER.

If I remember rightly, I wanted to say that dreadlocklove's yarn makes me think of a mossy forest in the fall, so much so that I can smell it Tongue Fireworks is a PERFECT name for that sparkly deliciousness. Aaaaand, World of Wool's waste package is AWESOME! I bought a kilo and got a really fantastic variety of leftovers Cheesy

Specifically, no, Nikschaf, I didn't need to do anything to the yarn but spin it Cheesy It came as blended top in a variety of purpes, so I just fluffed it sideways a bit and spun semi-woolen. I have this major love affair with spinning woolen, fluffy, bouncy yarns, partly because worsted spinning drives me crazy Tongue

Annnnd: HOLY CRAP, Belladune! 20oz in just a few weeks??? You're a MACHINE!!!
