I've been experimenting with PMC3 for the last year or so and just finished a necklace/pendant recently that I'm fairly happy with.
For those who don't know what PMC3 is, it is tiny particles of fine silver (.999 pure), water and a binder that is in a clay form that you can mold and shape very much like polymer clay. It's kiln fired and while at temperature, the binders and water burn away and you are left with pure silver. There is about ten percent shrinkage, so pieces come out a little smaller, which can be wonderful because detail just looks that much finer!
The pendant is 2.75 inches long, including the seashell.
The main part of the pendant is a stamp and the rest are little embellishments I added on. I also used an awl to make little patterns along the sides of the pendant. The seashell was also a stamp. When the clay was leather hard, I drilled the holes for findings and the chain.

The chain is made from fine silver wire that I made jump rings out of (on an old paint brush) and fused for the links between the 'bone' pieces, which are made from lengths of 18 gauge fine silver wire, measured, cut, hammered and twisted to get the 'thin in the middle' look. I used a metal punch to make holes for the links and fused the open links to the bones pieces to form the chain. Everything got a dip in Black Max to turn it dark and then a tumble in the rock polisher for two hours.

I love it.  I've been wanting to work with PMC for awhile, but just have not worked the nerve for it yet.  Your piece is very inspiring.

Thanks ladies!
And I agree, one of the things I love about PMC are the possibilities, and you don't have to be an experienced jeweler to create something wonderful.
Silver is at a pretty low price right now, so it's a good time to be brave and try something different....I say go for it!

Ooo, this is gorgeous! I wish we lived closer so you could give me jewelry lessons (or just jewelry).
