Well my husband and I were offically married at the end of May of this year (5-22), but being poor and low on money we couldnt afford wedding bands... (we borrowed my grandmothers rings for our ceremony).....so to have a pair of keepsake bands of our own, I took a nice slice from a 4x4 I had  and hand carved out a nice pair for the two of us.

I used my lovely woodburner to etch our astrological signs onto the surface (virgo & libra) and our wedding date and innitials into the under side =) they still have to be stained and sealed, but for now till payday they are perfect! =^.^=

The frontal shot (left is my ring side 5 1/2, and the right is my husbands ring size 10)

A shot where you can see the underside

And on my finger with my lovely engagement ring =^.^=

Hope everyone likes them as much as I do!

They're so lovely! I think that since you made them yourself, they're even more precious! Great work!

Very nice job, I'm sure it's not easy making these types of rings.

Yeah the belt sander was not kind to my hands at all XD that and I lost hold on the rings a few times and it belted them at my face...lil round wooden discs hurt xD but totally worth it!

Those are really wonderful.  You did such a nice job, especially carving them by hand and everything, they look very well finished and even!

I really like the idea of wooden rings, particularly for wedding bands.

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

They hold up really well, Ive already managed to shut my hand in the car door and it hasnt broken =D

I love the feel of them too, they are really smooth once they are fine sanded... I used a nice fine sanding sponge to sand them down to a smooth finish (except my husbands ofc, hard to get him to leave it off long enough to finish it lool!!)
