I love elephants. They are a symbol of strength, wisdom and hope to me.

This piece was done entirely with ink, the elephant itself has been done with your typical black ballpoint Bic pen, and the background with India ink. Pretty large too, 11"x14".

Wonderful, amazing and I am sure took a tremendous amount of patience to do.  I am wondering if your hands are indelibly black now from all that ink...LOL! My finger tips were blue just from the finger puppets I was working on for my grandson. Had to draw the pattern on felt and they were only 3 and 1/2 inches pcs. I would imagine tho that the bic pen ink would smear all over the place. Did you use a wrist rest? In any case...love your work! Kudos!

Thank you all! Cheesy

Shockingly my hands are clean! I did the vast majority of this while outdoors and thanks to the hot spell that we are experiencing, I suspect that the ink just dried very quickly! I also have the habit of working on areas in such an order that my hand won't drag along the fresh spots, but that's just practice over the years. Smiley

This is so beautiful.  The eye is so expressive, such a sad look to me.

I'm glad I got that look across, it's all part of the personal message Wink

That is so beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. You really captured an elephant's spirit. The details are amazing. I love elephant's too.
