That is why I wish I had a circle of friends who shared my crafting interests in my area - then we could share materials/supplies, especially more expensive tools.  Maybe something to consider - especially as a student - to start some kind of club or group to share resources, or at least leads on resources like local guilds, or art collectives, etc.

Don't forget freecycle, kijiji, craigslist, etc too!

As for Hoarding, that is my issue - I just did a minor purge, but still am overflowing with things I have collected that I "may" craft with.

As for the cans - I did the die cut and soldered metal ornaments one year with some cool beer cans I found - maybe something to consider?  I was thinking it would be cool to punch holes in them, and put LED lights through them for a lighted garland.
