I had too much fun with this one last time! I'll have to think if I can fit it in tho - too many amazing swaps seem to be happening at once.

I just finished unpacking my craft room (after 7 months of living here), so I signed up for this!  It's been awhile since I've done a swap and this one seems perfect.

Yeah I need to go through them more closely, so much good stuff!

I got back from the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show last night and it was so much fun. I came home with 12 new Fat Quarters! Woohoo!

Where was the Sisters Quilt Show held? Sounds like you showed quite a bit of restraint if you managed to only buy 12 FQs. I always spend way too much at the OKC show. Then one of my favorite quilt shops is closing, so I bought $80 worth of fabric and supplies on Tuesday. Think I may cut the 2 FQs from my stash if I have something my partner might like rather than buy more. Have to justify that $80 somehow to dh! Grin

Sisters is a small town in central Oregon, and it's an outdoor quilt show. The quilts are hung all over town on businesses and in tents and stuff. It was my first time attending. It's so cool! Tons of walking, but at least it wasn't too terribly hot. I didn't have a quilt in the show, but my guild had about 15.

Yeah 12 was pretty good for me, but I didn't really have any projects in mind I needed to buy for and was trying to hang on to my money. I didn't get any yardage cut because the big store in Sisters was soooo busy. We also went to two different stores in Bend (a nearby town) on our way home the next day.

When you said "Sisters" I wondered if it was the outdoor one in Oregon. Sounds awesome! Isn't it the one that designer Valori Wells and her mother started?

Yes, that's the one. Although I literally just looked that up to confirm lol! There was fabric from Valori Wells' studio on sale outside the biggest fabric store there, but I hadn't really thought about it much Cheesy That also makes sense that when we were trying to get Valori Wells as our speaker for our guild meeting, some of the other guild officers kept saying things like "well she's really busy with the Sisters Quilt Show this week." I just assumed she was teaching or featured or something lol!

Unless she's sold out, the reason Valori Wells' fabric was on sale at that particular quilt shop is because she and her mother own the store. I remember reading a feature article about Valori, her mother Jean who is also a quilt designer, their shop, and the quilt show in one of my quilting mags a year or two ago. Don't remember which magazine but I remember the article included some photos from the show.
