I have some great fabric from a dress my sister in law wore for a graduation when she was younger.  There isn't THAT much, but I think I can pull off a nice dress for my 4 year old.  She wants a twirl skirt, I was thinking circle, but I don't think I have enough material to get a good size circle out of, then I discovered you can do it in 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 circles as well.  So I'm wondering if I can get a good twirl out of a 3/4 or even 1/2 circle instead?

Most definitely! 3/4 has plenty of twirl but is still decently heavy. 1/2 has a beautiful bell effect with twirling and a lot less bulk.

I love this twirly skirt. Not a circle skirt, but has a long life for a skirt. I made one for my DD's 3rd birthday and finally retired it just before her 7th birthday. I have made a couple circle skirts, but still prefer this one over them for little girls.
