 Grin

It took a good solid 20 hours of sanding, and 4 coats of stain, and a tiny bit of black acrylic paint, but it was soooooo worth it.  I've gotten so many compliments on how regal and elegant she looks now!

I'm really happy with how she turned out.  If you look REEEEEEALY closely, she's got her flaws.  But for a complete novice at this woodworking/refinishing stuff, it's pretty good!

You gave your mady way more love than I gave my traveler. It looks great! You did such a good job. I'm almost jealous, but not willing to rip mine apart again for a long time. Good for you.

I've wanted to do it for over a year, for sure.  I bought the stain last summer, and totally used Fibre week as a deadline (If I took it apart, I'd have to have it back together in time to take with me. I started 2 weeks before I had to leave... It worked.)  But it was a lot of work, and my wrists hated me for it. So I totally understand your hesitation, Jexx.  thank you both!

Beautiful makeover!  I really like the dark details in the nooks and crannies.  (I'm sure there is an official word for them but I'm not knowing it. Roll Eyes )

A true labor of love...it turned out lovely and I am sure that each day you use her, you will be happy that you decided she needed a bit of a makeover!

I love the details in the whatevertheyarecall ed...they are her accessories!
