Stunning piece of embroidery. The shading on the mouth is beautiful and the stumpwork fly looks so real. Love his red eyes and his beautiful wings.

Oh my gosh, I love that fly!  You're stitching is great as always, but that fly is blowing me away.  Can you recommend a good stumpwork how-to guide/book?  Not that I'm anywhere near being ready for such a challenge, but I must know!  THanks!

So far I haven't tried any wired stumpwork, I've just been working over felt.  Felt has the advantage of being easy to handle, non-fraying, and can form curvy shapes without a wire.
