That's great, pj!   Cheesy

I helped my husband learn to knit and he's better than I am now.   Smiley

I showed the hubby how to make freezer paper stencils. There isn't much to teach about though.

I've taught lots of kids lots of crafts and some of them have been real rock stars - they come up with ideas and techniques and develop skills that I could never match.   It's a pretty good feeling when your student finds a talent and surpasses you.  Smiley

Weekly question:

I have seen some of the projects made after people have watched the Craftster videos and they rocked-I'm glad that I can teach them the general craft and then they make it their own.

Have you taught someone a craft, if so, did they surpass you?

I taught both our sons crafts when they were younger (perler beads, string art, etc.) and they made amazing items back then, many of which I've kept, but once they got older they decided biking and hockey were more fun so gave up on the handwork.

My friend taught me woodwork/painting and she says I've far surpassed her  Smiley

I've taught a number of children and adults to spin and crochet.  Most of the adults weren't "loving it" though they were glad to have the basics of a new skill.  The kids some of them really took off!  I imagine there will be some that surpass me, wherever they are in the world.

Mostly I'm just glad to share my craft skills and send them out into the world.  I feel that I'm sharing joy.

I have taught a few friends to knit. A couple of them still do it but usually come by for help Smiley. It's a good excuse for us to get together!

I am SO happy I went back and read the 'rules' again......I thought we had to craft to our secret person's themes and was just stumped on my last item.  But then I read that it could be to their themes or something we discover by post stalking.  Now I know exactly what my item(s) will be!
