I love shrink dinks!

Today I make a few pair of earrings and a couple charms for myself.

Teady-Zaphod Earrings
Didn't turn out as well as I had hoped they would, the color pencil is really streakie, next time I'm going to just outline them in black sharpie, it gives it a more clean, pretty look.

Zaphod is a character from The Hitchhiker's Guide To THe Galaxy by Douglas Adams, He is not a teddy bear, but he does have two heads and three arms.

Fox Earrings
I got this pictures from clip art. I'm thinking about feeding the image into darklily and using the crossstitch pattern to make a small quilt. I think that would be beautiful.

Periodic Table Charm
I love the PT, my favorite element is Au, which is also the letters my name starts with. My french name is Aurelie.

Daily Planet Charm
I love Smallville an all things Superman so I made this really cute charm which I'm going to put on a cell phone dangles once I get a cell phone. lol

Thanks for looking

In my experience sharpies don't work for outlining shrinky's.  It runs when you try to seal it.  If you use Micron pens (they are kinda pricey, but seriously last forever) they won't run AT ALL.  They won't rub off either.  Also, when I'm coloring I use Prisma color pencils.  I buy a 12 pack for like 12.99 (or something like that) at Dick Blick.   They give you a better, deeper color, and also won't smudge when you seal them (like with mod podge etc.).  Hope that helps you!

BTW, I love the Teddy-Zaphod he's cute!

I use sharpies all the time and they don't run for me.

Sharpies run for me, but I think that's because I was using the plain white 'Dinks to write on. Roll Eyes

Anyway, that's not why I came in here to comment - I actually wanted to say that I love the Periodic Table pendant! Maybe if you wanted to make it, I dunno, more "formal", you could add a little silver gem to the space for silver or a gold gem to the space for gold (or a piece of aluminum foil to aluminum? Cheesy)...that might look interesting, though I love it the way it is.

The teddy bear earrings, while I would never wear them, are cute and I can definitely see the Zaphod inspiration. Any reason why one looks like a little pirate?

Zaphod's second head, in the TV Series, wears an eye patch, I'm not sure about any other versions of him.
