I made these for the Easy Peasy Alice projects.

This was inspired by a Pin on one of my partner's boards.  It was a tag project, and I made mine with transfers of a couple of the John Tenniel images, and some of her favourite quotes.  I transferred the images with Chartpak markers onto cardstock, after cutting the shapes for the envelope and the tags.

I embossed over the lettering, and coloured the card stock with Distress inks.  I sewed the edges of the envelope together.

I quite like how they turned out, and my thought was that the tags could be used as bookmarks.

I shaped the top edges of the envelope and the top and bottom edges of the tags by playing around with my Spellbinders dies and off-setting them.

Some more about them on my blog.

I don't know how I missed this but I'm enjoying it now! I like the way you distressed it. Did you use a blue ink for that?

yes, if I remember,  it was a couple of different shades of blue distress inks, and the colour of the paper gave it a greener tint.

I have a couple of distress inks but they are both brown. I've seen the blue and green shades but never knew what I'd do with them. Now I know Smiley!

I thought I would only use the browns for distressing too, but now I think I have almostall of them.  It's what I have been using to tint most of my most recent tags before CChristmas.   The colours are gorgeous!  They are very subtle here, but quite brilliant on other items.  I am having fun experimenting with them!

What do you use to apply them with? It looks like you got a nice even application.

I have the foam applicator tool.  You could probaby make your own with Velcro,  foam, and a wood block.  Or use make up sponges - swirl the colour in from the edges of te tag, and layer lightly over to strenthen the colour, rather than saturate the sponge and applying the colour in one layer.
