I want to make a denim skirt from old jeans. I want the strips to be diagonal like in this pic:



(sorry it's sideways)  What I need to know is if I should cut the strips on the grainline or on the bias or does it even matter? Thanks for looking.

grainline if you want it to be structural, bias if you want a bit of stretch.. I think?
