Old John is a landmark on the skyline near where i grew up - it's a folly a top a bloody great hill so it's hard to miss!

For this hoop, i stained the fabric to age it, then embroidered the outlines in stem stitch, and had my first go at crayon tinting.. Fun, but I think I'd use the technique differently another time

I like it too.  From the thumbnail I thought it was a wood-burning.

I like this. It made me think of drawings in charcoal or Conte crayon, but now that others have said woodburning, I can see that too. It's different from any other crayon tinting I've seen.

This is the first I've heard of crayon tinting. Oh no! What have you done? *runs off to google*

This reminds me of an old "tower" I saw on a program about... (think, brain, think) a hint in a theory concerning the Holy Grail based on imagery in some stained glass windows in a chapel... years ago... I like it!
