Hi everyone,

Last June I was the Maid of Honor in my best friend's wedding. For the happy couple's firat anniversary I wanted to give them a scrapbook of their wedding.

I did a pretty good job stealing things from the wedding (napkins, bubble wands, etc). We made all of the invitations and programs ourselves, so I have those as well. I also have access to her professional photos.

Unfortunately, I am a terrible terrible scrapbooker-person. It all looks so nice in my head. Then it looks like complete junk in real life.

All I'm looking for are some simple layout examples. So if you know anywhere that might showcase a simple how-to I would really appreciate it.

I'm currently looking on Pinterest and scrapbooksetc.com. But everything seems overly doo-daa-ed...if you know what I mean.

My major problem is always that I can only be crafty if I have a detailed set of instructions to follow or a picture that I can recreate....so I'm in trouble.

If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them

THANK YOU!

Not sure if you've come across this yet but, there are wedding & romantic themed scrap book sets/packages (paper, cutouts, stickers, etc.) that should be available at your local craft store. Most of them actually show page ideas with the inculded materials that come with that set. If that makes any sense.

Thank, I'll have to take a look at them. Michael's is the only store within an hour of my house and it doesn't usually have what I want haha. Plus she had very distinct wedding colors that I wanted to use throughout. I'll have to see if they give me any good ideas though.

Thanks!

I know what you mean. I live close to a Michael's also and they have a very small collection of items at the location. Many times they don't have what I'm looking for so it's frustrating  Sad I order supplies online if I absolutely want/need to.

I'm afraid I can't help with planned layouts, but since you have snagged lots of bits from the wedding you could just play around with those. A simple photo mounted onto some textured white/cream card with photo corners, maybe even the gold/silver ones if you can find them. Paint 2 jigsaw pieces white that fit together...add some white buttons and confetti, or white labels stamped with words or phrases and the page will start to come together I'm sure.

I made this one, if it helps for any ideas? http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=378245.0 I'm not much for buying kits, so most of the things I make tend to be things I pick up, or scrapbooking supplies that I've altered Cheesy

Just a thought...

If you do get one of those scrapbooking kits or ready-packaged layout things from Michaels and it's not the right colors, you could paint over it with the wedding colors. I think it would look more homemade that way too.
