Smiley Hello! Here is what I came up with for the dollar store challenge: something fun and beachy for our porch.

Pillar candles, ping pong balls, glass beads, blue twine- like rope and two star shaped containers.

I took the twine stuff and hot glued it around the ping pong balls (this might be my favorite part).

Then I crushed up the glass beads and mixed with with mode podge and covered the larger star with that, which created a great texture. While that was drying, I scooped the wax out of the pillar candles and melted it to put in the glass star container. I used some of the larger pieces from the smashed up glass beads to show through on the sides of it. Voila! Star candle!

Then, I glued the covered ping pong balls underneath, glued the small star to the big star, placed some non-crunched up glass beads on top, and now I have a super festive centerpiece!

This looks great! I love everything together, but those twine wrapped ping pong balls are brilliant!

"I can make that!" has been the start of more misadventures than I can count Cheesy

Really cool!  I got some green twine from the dollar store and didnt know what to do with it until now....wrap some balls, love it.  The star plate is really neat, I need to play with mod podge more often, you had great ideas!

Looks great. I'm especially enamored with the twine wrapped ping pong balls.

I've never been lost, but I will admit to being confused for several weeks.

I definitely need to visit the Dollar Store more often...

very creative use of both the glass star and the star tray...the feet you made are really cute! I love how you displayed your project in a total beachy tabletop!
