well this was a big one to cut out...it took ages..anyone handy at massage??

a boat on a lake, half moon...some issues with the design and layout of this, I had originally put a swan flying across the sky, but it didn't work...the constellation cygnus is in there instead...

I tried block printing medium with black oil paint..it only served to remind me that a) I need a press for prints and b) why I hate to work with anything that is not water soluble..

I tried a second time with my old trusty speedball screen printing inks, which made me much happier, re: the clean up, but not so much re the lack of press...

so I had a go at printing onto fabric, tee-shirts this time..now we're talking..this time it prints well, the fabric clings to the paint and it is easier to transfer...

still a few issues to iron out..I put the fabric onto the linocut, as it is a bit big and bendy..I suspect that would work so much better if I mounted the block onto wood, to keep it flat..and then print directly onto fabric that is stretched onto a table... these tee-shirts have smudging on the edges, which I am not happy with...but they are good enough for a first attempt...
these are the two tee-shirts that I did

and a close up of the image quality on the tee

this is the image on paper...I am a little too close to the work and can see the flaws..but in general I am happy with it so far..

I'd welcome any suggestions about ironing out some of the problems above (I am aware that ironically using an iron would have helped!..lol)

EdelC - you could post each and every one of your creations on that board 'More Art Less Craft'.  I love how you can take work in so many different mediums and make it work.

Beautiful! I especially love the motion of the ocean waves.  It makes me think of a modernized version of Hokusai's famous Great Wave print!  I am just starting to do lino block prints myself, and this is very inspiring. = )
