And she is finally here! Kill Bill’s The Bride / Black Mamba!

Also got inspired to make this doll after my visit to the V&A Hollywood Costumes exhibition I saw last year. After The Wizard of Oz Dorothy and Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I thought I could add a more modern character to my collection of dolls.

The Bride / The Black Mamba also has a very simple costume but it’s so effective. Probably the combination of the bright yellow with the black stripes. I’m pretty sure that if you saw the film you won’t fail to recognise “The Bride”.

The development of the doll as a pattern was quite straight forward. I wanted to give her a fierce look, a bit angry as she should be. The hair needed to be more flowy this time so I tried this technique for attaching it for the first time. While it was quite time consuming, I think the result is very good. You just need to be careful about the volume.

For her costume, I went for the jumpsuit, isn’t it cooler than the sweatpants? And I used pipe cleaner for the katana.

I love how the sneakers / trainers turned out!

I think the 3 dolls make quite a team! Could they be the next “Charlie’s Angels”?

So did I manage to capture The Bride’s soul in this crochet doll? Which other characters would you like to see on my Amigurumi Dolls collection?
