So this is a bit late, but I didn't know about this amazing site at that point, and I don't want him to just disappear into the ethos. I managed to be a wee bit in the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.  I had heard about the contest for the CBC Radio on the CBC news on Friday.  Saturday, I worked out what I wanted to do.  Sunday I made him.  And Monday I mailed him off.  I left for a visit to my parents on Tuesday.  Later that week, I was notified by email that I had won!  My prize was tickets to the opening of the Women's Skating that Sat.  But I was still in the US.  SO I asked them to donate them to a worthy cause.  The CBC gave them to a women's shelter in the Lower East Side of VanCan...great choice!  When I got back home a few weeks later, they awarded me with a full set of the official mascots...which was a better prize for me anyway.  I also got some cool CBC Radio stuff as well Grin  Here goes the pics!

I even got a photo in the local paper..LOOK!  They called me an ARTist Grin
Here I am with Cosmo at the display with David when we picked up my prize..Check out the other great entries.
This one was my favo..
We had to write a 100 word bio as well..and here it is..
NAME: David Julian Abhijit Xinshi
MEANING: Beloved Youthful One who is victorious Believe
SPECIES: Moover. 1/2 Moose, 1/2 Beaver
EYE COLOUR: Blue for the Ocean, brown for the mountains, green for the lush vegetation.
HOBBIES: Tattoos and piercing (girls love the Mountie tat)
DIET: Sushi, Naan, Maple Syrup, and Beer
JOB(S): Wants to be an extra, but has too "unique" a look. Is a tree planter, until he is discovered.
GOALS: To have a new sport in the next Olympics. It's called Yogockyboarding. It combines three of Vancouver's favourite pastimes into one unforgettable sport.

I was STUNNED when I won as there was several that got way better votes on Facebook..but I don't Facebook heheh.  All in all, the Olympics were a roaring success..even with out my little win.  Thanks for looking! Susi

suereal, first of all congratulations on your win.  You certainly deserve it. He is a great mascot. Second, what a wonderful thing you did in donating your prize. This is a wonderful and moving background story. Enjoy your win!!!/well done!

He's wonderful, congratulations! I love the little Maple leaf on his nose. Wink The bio you wrote for him is adorable!

All we have to decide is what to craft with the time that is given to us.

Thanks y'all!  I actually miss David Julian Abhijit Xinshi sometimes as he went to live with the CBC folks.  So it is nice to have some new comments about him Grin
