Unfortunately I was to involved in the actual process to take pictures of it.  But here are the results!

The basic over view goes like this: you have 4 pots of mordant, and 1 without.  You mordant 5 skeins as directed for that specific mordant, rinse and then stick them in the dye bath you've chosen (this one is Brazil Wood)  and then rinse, and then put different skeins in a different post mordant, or no mordant and watch them change colour.  Loads of fun!

Sweet! I would love to see photos of them in a color scale. Were these done in your class?

What did you use as mordants??  tin, chrome, alum, copper, acid??

What fun it would have been to watch them change colors in the post mordant!

Thanks everyone!

MLF,  There was Iron, Alum, Copper, and Rhubarb leafs (Oxalic Acid) as the pre mordants, and there was a citric acid, iron, alkali, and... something else Huh as post mordants (or modifier).  It is fun to watch them change colour!

Not sure yet.  there will be less then 10 yards of each once I put my workbook together.  Maybe work them into a bigger project, like a sweater or something... Or mittens...

Oh, these are GORGEOUS! Just lovely colour, all my favourite shades. I am so looking forward to my later years when I dream I'll have time for more projects, lol. In the meantime I'm reading all I can about these old skills and watching what other people do. Keep up the inspiration please!

Yup!  Lots and Lots and Lots of notes.  I'd be able to reproduce any of those colours with the right mordants.  Our dye material was on the light side for the amount of fibre, so if I did it again, I'd probably get more vibrant colours.  Which I wouldn't complain about!! Cheesy
