I made these pillows for wendiek's boys in the IYP23 swap.  The boys like Super Mario brothers, so I thought I would make them Mario and Luigi pillows on backgrounds that would match their bedroom colors.

Mario:



Luigi:



I found images on the web and resized them to fit on the 16 x 16" pillow forms.  Then I used the images as the pattern to cut the pieces out of wool blend felt.  Then each piece was hand stitched in place with a running stitch (2 strands of embroidery thread in colors matching the felt ).  I love how they came out!

I love Mario on that background! It really makes him pop and is still very Nintendo feeling. (If that makes sense, lol.)
