I have NEVER made a cross stitch project this detailed.  14 colors.  would have been more if my converting program hadn't lost at least one color.

I made this from a Mortal Kombat Sega Genesis sprite (I found it again last night after I posted this).  I made so many mistakes, but none that anybody would really notice...except me.  Tongue

I just found the frame today.  lol.  I was so, so happy to have found one this small!  it's only 3in x 4in!! Grin  I used 28 count Hardanger cloth (you're supposedly supposed to use it as 14 count, but I like a challenge).  had I used it as 14 or even used 11 count like I wanted to, it would have been HUGE!!!!!!!

EPIC!!!!

Did you use one floss strand or two for the stitches on such a tiny fabric?  Amazing work, I totally know how difficult it is to do 1 over 1 on something that tiny too!

You totally rocked the conversion, the colors look perfect!  I have to share it to facebook so one of my friends who was MK obsessed can see!

thanks everyone!  Grin

there's another, much larger picture I want to do next, but I haven't decided what count to use yet.  I'm afraid of how large it will be if I use even 14 count.  I need to get some larger count cloth...

Cool!  She LOVED it.  Toastie!  Wink

I figured it was one strand!
Try finding some 32 count evenweave.  It works really well for tiny ones like this.  I'm nearly at the point where I want to try that again sometime.  I saw pictures of something insanely small in a magazine somewhere 64 count?  I haven't seen it in person yet.

I can't wait to see your next project!

64?!  I didn't know about that!!!!!!!!!!!  I've seen 32 count online, but I said I would NEVER be that crazy.  but now I want to try it.  lol

I need to sit down and figure out the pattern for my next project.  it's HUGE.  and I can't use the converter I used for this one.  it ADDS colors!  Sad  so I need to go by the pixelated picture I have and just try to match the colors myself with the help of the converter.  it's going to be a pain...

Yeah- I really want to see what the 64 one looks like.  It sounds insane!  The 32 wasn't too horrible.  I just made the mistake of choosing a super repetitive pattern.  Tetris looks cool, but gets to you after the 10th or so tetrid.  Wink

Noooooooooo!   Not one that adds colors.  Frick...
Did you try that part when you start off as you upload that you can set a certain maximum number of colors?

Sometimes that works, others it doesn't turn out the way you want.  I fought with that for ages on a project a while ago.

LOL!  oh no!!!  I can only imagine making a Tetris one.  I'm pretty sure I'd go crazy and/or blind.

yeah, it added color(s).  it was supposed to be color X for the sky right against color Z, but this added color Y in between the two that isn't even in the original.  SO MAD!!!  the converter took away at least a shade of yellow from this one.  I'm not really upset, but it would have saved me from insanity.  it would have broken up some of the fields of solid color.  Cheesy  I'll have to play around with the program to see what I can do.
