These are really beautiful. I've heard of the 'gin' transfer technique but I have never tried it. Very nice Grin

Thank you all so much!

Bushbaby: I've experimented a bit with the transfer. The cheaper the gin the better the transfer - I've tried three types and the one I bought for five dollars works much better than the expensive ones. Regular alcohol doesn't work at all. Also, blue doesn't transfer as well for some reason. The trick is to be patient, gentle and work in circular motions.

I usually role out the (white) clay rather thinly (I wet it a bit on both sides, too, so it won't stick), and then cut out the printed image (this only works with laser printers) and put it face down on the clay. You pour a bit of the gin into a small bowl. Then you dip your finger in the gin and wet the image in circular motions while pressing down gently. You want to press enough so it will stick and not move but if you press too much your clay will have dents in it. You'll notice as you work that little bits of paper will start to peel off. Don't use too much gin, only add more if you feel you're about to crease or move the paper. Just do this for a while until all the paper off. If your not sure it is (the gin makes the paper transparent) wait a bit till it dries and work on the white areas again. Cut the image (I use both cookie cutters and a knife - both only used for this purpose and not for cooking) and bake it until hard. Put it in ice water, then dry it. I put on two layers of polymer clay friendly varnish, too.
