I'm in the process of looking for work, which means I end up spending way too much time thinking of stuff to make.

I've had this fabric in my stash for over a year and had no idea what I wanted to do with it.  It seemed to need to be something summery, but I wasn't too excited about a top or a skirt with fish all over it.

Enter Burda Style pattern #6005 (free on the burdastyle.com site).

I'm really happy with how they came out.  This is the first time I've attempted anything with this much construction, and I really learned a lot about making clothing with them.  I think I'll end up trying these again.

I printed out this pattern but got too distracted with work to start.
How did you find the instructions?

Thanks!

I printed out this pattern but got too distracted with work to start.
How did you find the instructions?

I forgot to mention this.  Mostly the pattern/instructions were pretty straightforward, but a few times I wondered if the instructions had been translated into English (which I think they were actually).  Some of the words used seemed to not be exactly what was meant (i.e. using the term "left side" for the side of fabric opposite the right side of fabric as opposed to using the word "wrong side").

I haven't sewn from patterns that frequently before, but I was able to figure out for  myself what was meant and what I was to do, so I would say overall the instructions/pattern were pretty good.
