Hello,
here is one of my latest creations

I got the idea from a book called "hook, loop and lock", then changed the design to suit me.  The base is the plastic mesh from an old amplifier and I locker hooked the plastic bag strips onto it
here is an in progress shot

I didn't know what to do with the floats on the back so it's a bit of a mess underneath

it took quite a few weeks mostly cause it left my hands sore so I did it in small bursts.  Having said that I have a floor mat (in wool this time) for inside on my to do list and have even thought of a funny recycled quote for it.
Anyway here is an "action shot" of the mat at my front door

thanks for looking Smiley

That came out great! It's a wonderfully unique doormat, and a great recycling project.

I love it - so creative!  The design is beautiful - where did you find enough yellow to do the edging?

Thanks, one of our major supermarkets uses yellow bags so they were easy but the black bags are a bit rarer, I had to buy fabric or notions to get those (oh the sacrifices we make), fortunately I didn't need too many.

What a great idea!  I love your re-use of materials and the mat turned out fantastically.  How is it holding up so far?

thanks, now that it's winter over here I have put it away as I don't think it will stand up to too much serious foot wiping.  It was fine over summer and only required occasional hosing down.
