I've been using my custom skirt pattern today to make another basic skirt for the summer. I've used it before to make skirts for work -plain, dark etc but living in the Caribbean - I wanted something light and colourful. Bring on the latest skirt from this pattern a beautiful soft green eyelet with shimmery embroidery and gemstones!

As soon as I saw this fabric I knew it would be perfect to make one of these easy skirts.  In the previous version I had added a waistband, but this eyelet fabric had little holes so I knew it had to be lined.  I added a nude colored pongee lining and made it without a waistband.  Voila an easy lined pencil skirt!

Its not only pretty, but it the fit is fantastic and it feels so nice to wear.  Ive always liked wearing a lined skirt, I like the way it feels expensive, and the lining also seems to prevent the skirt from creasing so much too.  And I also think it will prevent some of the stretching out that I sometimes get in the back of a skirt from spending so much time sat on my behind.

You can see more pictures and read more about this skirt, and the instructions for making your own custom fit skirt pattern on my site at http://so-sew-easy.com/easy-lined-pencil-skirt/

The embroidery on your skirt is gorgeous.  The color and fit are beautiful as well.

That is so lovely. Beautiful job.

I've never been lost, but I will admit to being confused for several weeks.
