I made a shrine to steampunk for the Shrine Swap this June. This was my first attempt at both categories. I was really afraid it would fall under the "not remotely steampunk" meme. I really wanted to make my partner something that lived up to the term, and not just plopping gears down on something. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Anyway, I just went along using everything I could find that I felt would fit the description. I almost picked one of my partner's "easier" topics, but I decided to challenge myself. And boy, was I ever challenged. My husband took a couple photos before I sent it off, and though I altered it a tiny bit before sending, this is mainly it. Now I wish I had maybe taken more "in progress" shots. Just another thing I learned doing this swap. Any comments are appreciated!  Smiley

Thanks Ludi, it might be the lighting that makes it look more spooky than it was. I think, lol. Maybe I just err on the side of spooky, my mind tends to go that way. My partner said she likes dark colors, it was kind of a challenge.

Thanks Karasu! That means a lot. If I could, I'd make you one, but pretty much I don't think I could recreate it. Feel free to steal any ideas though!

This is way cool! I like the details embedded in the frame. There are so many things to look at and yet, it seems so simple and uniform. Great job on this.

Thank you LimeRiot. The little buckle at the top is what started that. It's actually a vintage button, I have several of them(I collect buttons) but couldn't resist using one. From there is just escalated, lol.
