This one took a very long time to make!


He and all his friends are made of air drying clay, painted with acrylics, and resting on a wooden base.


Final size: 17 inches tall, 14 inches long, 8 inches wide.


I still need to take some nicer photos of the completed sculpture!

Great details!  I especially like the mane and the sort of plates on the front. How did you build up the surface details, the swirls?

Very impressive! I really like the textured wood grain/tree bark body with the fur combined. All the details are wonderful!

To make the surface details I watered down some clay and put it in a squeeze bottle. I then used that to "draw" the lines on the creature.
