I actually think it looks really good! Especially in profile. Maybe with all the bits added (eyes, hair, etc) it will start to feel more poppet-like?

I have to agree with jungrrl, it looks perfect, it just needs the features that make it feel more....facelike?

I just got home so give me a few minutes and I'll snap pictures of my newest one, its not attached to anything but it does have its face, so perhaps it will give you a better feel for your own =)

*edit*

Okies, here's my newest head...I do sketch my faces on with sharpie fabric markers although I have done one with the safety eyes too, all depends on what your most comfortable with

Front

Side

Other side

Back

Bottom

Top

See? Mine looks just like yours, cept maybe a little more tightly stuffed and with a face...thats really, the only difference, shape wise, their likely identical =)

Same style head, but with hair and safety eyes

=)

You'll find he looks better and better as his features get added on, unless you make a hella blunder and have like, horrible puckers or your fabric falls apart at the seams, I wouldnt toss a head till you try it out with features =D I just stitched close a few fingers that fell apart as I was turning them rather than make news one =)

I think it looks really good!  Remember to use a lot of stuffing. Try stuffing it a bit more and see if you like the shape better. I usually stuff my heads until they're  pretty stiff. I think it looks great.. Smiley  Keep going with it!

I think the head looks fine! One thing I noticed was that which way the stretch goes really makes a difference for a thin and long vs more round head. I had to make 2 once to get the right shape for a poppet Smiley

also if you use a fabric w/o stretch it tends to look a little wider.

try putting more stuffing in the chin and see if you like it better.
