Today my kiln club met and I brought the little sculpture I had made (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=424159.0#axzz2WPRT2SBG) as well as another piece I made yesterday and pulled out of the kiln this morning. The challenge was to use scrap glass and I made this small piece out of the rolled end of glass sheets:

It measures 3 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches. I have lots of rolled ends leftover but mostly greens. Maybe I'll make a larger one to hang horizontally. Enjoy!

I REALLY like this piece. I likened it to a sunset over the water if you turn it pink side up.
I don't know anything about working with glass, how do you get the edges to melt?

I look forward to seeing more! Keep posting Smiley

Such a great way to use the ends.  Smiley I have mine set aside just knowing one day I will come up with the perfect mosaic idea for them. Have one rolling around in my head, but not the full picture yet. Bet it would be pretty if you could use them for the edges of a round fused plate or tray. Could that be done?

Fantastic!  I love it.  Make more... lots more!

...So...This is what insanity must be like, I thought.....and I could kind of see the appeal.

That's so cool looking!  Yay for using up scraps (and how cool is it you belong to a kiln club?)
