I made myself this bright red top, from a commercial pattern, out of a cotton jersey fabric.

I hope you like it.

PS (many months later...): I suddenly realized I never posted another version of this top that I made in a taupe colour. So, better late than never, here it is:

I like it very much! Very feminine and flattering on your body, the bust is a little sexy but not too much! And the color lovely! Perfect choise!

Thanks, Le-Chat and liliv!
Much appreciated.

Yes, liliv, I finally chose something more feminine and I'm glad I did.
I am surprised how well it looks on me. I thought it would make me look more fat overweight, but in fact it looks flattering.

You have a beautifull decolte, which this top highlights, but still remains modest enough. And it is feminine but casual as well. And you are right that it makes you slimmer. Perfect! I would make it 3,4 more times in different colors:)) I had traced once a burda pattern with similar design but never made it because it was fitted at the waist area and this wouldn't be flattering for my apple shaped body. Now that I see yours I want to use it: I will keep the bust pieces and redraft the lower part to make it more roomy.

Liliv, I wanted to give you a link to the magazine I took the pattern from, but I cannot find it anywhere online.
Mine is Dutch: Symplicity Naaimode nr. 4.
Since it was a Symplicity magazine, I thought I would easily find it online. But it looks like it was made for the Dutch market only (and even then I could not find this particular number).
I think I bought it last year, but the magazine itself has no year on it. It only says 'voorjaar' (spring). Odd...
