I have searched high and low for t-shirt surgery tutorials that I think would work for me.  My t-shirts fit me funny as I have gained in the tummy area and have some recent medical developments that make it uncomfortable to have much pressure on that area.  I wanted a sort of empire waist or a cut to de-emphasize my belly area that might work for me.  Any tips would be appreciated.

I buy oversized men's tank tops--like 3 sizes too big--to sleep in
I cut a V wedge out of the top fo the side seam to tighten and raise the armhole, and stitch the wedge turned around--so it's like an A instead of a V--into the bottom of the seam to create a fitted, flared tank tunic
