I've got the perfect bag for me and I want to do some mild alterations just because I can.

It's a mini messenger bag like this: (http://c.shld.net/rpx/i/s/i/spin/image/spin_prod_813353112)

I want to have somewhere on the front of the bag to write quotes on, without it being permanent, so that I can write things to fit my mood on it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that?

You could sew a clear vinyl patch and write on that with a permanent marker (wash off with alcohol cleaner); do testing first, not all vinyl is created equal. You could also buy a blank pin-back button (get one on zazzle or cafepress) and write on that the same way.

There are temporary fabric markers, but you'd be taking a chance with those writing directly on the bag; you may end up with ghosts of writings past or worse. Better to use velcro or snaps on the front with "matching" fabric patch to write on, then velcro/snap it to the front so it can be taken off and washed or changed if needed.

I love the vinyl idea!

I've used a temp. fabric marker before on a project for my sister, the ink bled and she was purple for a week, so I'm not sure I'm ready to try that again.

But I definitely love the vinyl and button idea!

Thank you so much!! <3

What about sewing on the clear vinyl patch like a pocket, with the top open, and you could write your quote on paper that you put in the pocket? It would be easy to change daily.
