I've never ran a swap before... so I don't really know what I'm doing! But I thought a swap for hexies (you know, the little fabric hexagons used in english paper piecing*) might be fun? you could get fabrics you wouldn't be able to get hold of your self
*if anyone doesn't know what I'm about; look at this tutorial - they are super easy to make and super versatilehttp://www.thezenofmaking.com/2013/06/tutorial-english-paper-piecing-hexies-part-1.html
It would be quite a small swap - a defined number of hexies (say... 8?) in your partners choice of size (hmm... that would mean more work for some than others... does that matter too much? I suppose if anyone wants extra big hexies, their partner could just make less of them) and colours.
that's it - pretty simple
It would be light, so cheap postage - and most of us would be able to work from stash I should imagine, since you only need scraps (the idea for the swap came form me realising that if I use my scrap stash to make all my own hexies, I'll come out with lots of the same designs, which could get boring....)
people could choose to have two partners if they wanted
what do you guys think?
(I have to run now before the shops close, but I'll read up on the swap organisers guidelines when I get back - I'm pretty sure I can do it!)
I wouldn't plan on having this too soon - in fact I'm away at the end of july so the best time for me to run it would be early august, with a couple of weeks of sign-ups then a fair amount of craft time - maybe 3 weeks? that's ages considering how easy hexies are to make
