Here are my fabulous motifs from deathbeforedishes! I tried to load them from school, but my computer froze, and I just realized that I left the envelope of motifs on my desk, so I can't provide the identification information until tomorrow, but I'll  update the post when I get home Smiley

Left: Front/Back Post DC- Twisted Treble Hexagon (page 16 of 20 to Make- Crocheted Granny Squares by Val Pierce)
Right: Lacy Motif- Floral Motif  (page 30 of 20 to Make- Crocheted Granny Squares by Val Pierce)

Left: Made w/3 Colors- Scalloped Circle (page 22 of 20 to Make- Crocheted Granny Squares by Val Pierce)
Right: Never Made Before: Medallion #8 (page 190 of Super Stitches Crochet by Jennifer Campbell)

Left: Flower Motif- Medallion #10 (page 192 of Super Stitches Crochet by Jennifer Campbell)
Right: Made w/3 Colors- Dog Rose Triangle (page 38 of 20 to Make- Crocheted Granny Squares by Val Pierce)

Left: Sender's Choice- Medallion #9 (page 192 of Super Stitches Crochet by Jennifer Campbell)
Middle: Made w/3D Elements Medallion #10 (page 198 of Super Stitches Crochet by Jennifer Campbell)
Right: Bonus w/stitch markers

They are fabulous, and I love how dimensional some of them are! And, as an added bonus, I don't think I have any of them already (I don't have the book the patterns came from, so I know I haven't made them Smiley ).

Plus, as an added super bonus, I got a lovely set of crochet stitch markers! I always use a paper clip, which sometimes falls out, so the lobster clasp style should be much more secure.

Thanks so much, deathbeforedishes!

Yay! Cheesy

They shipped well! I was worried that they would end up all whopper jawed and curled. So I am glad they look so flat still. Smiley

The parameters in which I was working were to not make any squares and to avoid white.  My stitch marker holder has a white flower, but that didn't factor into my 7 and 25". Wink  So it doesn't count. Cheesy

I am glad they arrived and that you like them!

Love the motifs!  Excellent work, deathbeforedishes!

I think if I had to choose a favourite, I'd go with the Dog Rose Triangle. ^_^

I've received from deathbeforedishes, and the motifs are lovely!  And she included some very pretty stitch markers, too - thanks dbd!

Top row:
Bonus stitchmarker holder motif; Flower motif "Tudor Rose" pg 24 of 20 To Make Crocheted Granny Squares by Val Pierce; Lacy motif "Medallion 4" pg 182 of Super Stitcher Crochet by Jennifer Campbell; Motif she's never made before "Shape 5" pg 198 of Super Stitcher Crochet (her first treble crochets!  Excellent work!)

Bottom row:
Worked diagonally (and never made before!) "Shape 1" pg 194 Super Stitches Crochet; Three Colours "Daffodil Square" pg 14 of 20 To Make; Senders Choice "circle in a square" pg 28 of 20 To Make; Granny Square with a twist "Nursery Granny Square" pg 20 of 20 To Make.

Thank you so much deathbeforedishes!

I received from fantasticmio today!

Granny Square with a twist. (This one is my favorite, how beautiful!) It's large too, so I am going to make it the center of my blanket!! My daughters can't wait for me to start piecing it together.

Motif worked diagonally and a flower motif.

A lacy motif and a motif she designed herself! (I could never do that!)

Motif made with three colors and a Tunisian Crochet motif.

I LOVE them all. I really wanted soft motifs in shades of purple and they are perfect!!

Thank you so much fantasticmio!

I'm glad you like them, dbd!

My favourite one to make was the big one, so I'm especially glad you enjoyed it!

As an aside, I'm looking for pattern testers for the baby-blanket-sized version of that motif. The pattern is *almost* ready to go, and I'm looking for folks to be finished their blankets by the end of July.  Send me a PM if you're interested!

I love the motifs you made for fantasticmio, deathbeforedishes! I think my favorites are the last one in each row (the spiraling motif and the Nursery Granny).

And, fantasticmio, the motfis you sent to deathbeforedishes are fabulous as well! I love the motif made with 3 colors- is it made like a Jacob's Ladder?

I still only have 1 motif finished, but I've tested out 3 more (and I have the rest of them selected). Two of the tested motifs are keepers, but the third one curled quite a bit, which may be because I used two different brands of yarn, or because it needs blocking. If I can solve the problem by blocking it, I'll re-do it in the colors (purples!) for deathbeforedishes.

I spent my day in a waiting room, and it was quiet until one guy showed up and spent the rest of the day loudly yapping. He was the only one who was loud, and it made concentrating on motifs a challenge. Of the three I tested out, I had to start two of them over twice after getting at least half finished with each one. But, my goal is to get my grades done by tomorrow afternoon so I can work on motifs tomorrow night. I don't think I'll be able to send on Friday, but Saturday is a distinct possibility (Monday would be a definite, but I'd rather send on Saturday).

Thanks!

The "at least 3 colours" motif is a Jacob's Ladders one.  It's a motif I've designed to go in a blanket like so:

IMG3585 by fantasticmio, on Flickr

The goal was: a motif that has Jacob's Ladders that aren't at the corners, that get laddered up *after* joining.  I had to invent a new joining technique to allow for the ladders, but I'm mostly happy with how it looks.  I need to try a couple more colour combos.

The one I sent to dbd was a way to see if it looked better with multiple colours in each square - I like the striping, but the ladders pull the colours to two of the sides, so they aren't centred anymore... my OCD doesn't like that. Tongue

Here's a close-up that shows the texture better, but also the slight wonkiness. Tongue
