Make Art - Not War

I seem to NEVER run out of things to journal about --- if only I had the time!
I love creating images that remind me of the good times growing up...for me that was a LONG time ago!  Shocked
I am a part of the hippie-trippy-sixties generation (I've been on the planet 63 years now!).

One of my favorite two-page journal spreads is the one I call "Talkin' 'Bout My Generation". Using two rubber stamps that I hand-carved to make a powerful statement -- Bob Dylan, and Give Up War For Lent I did my best to capture the energy of the times. Vibrant colors splashed on spontaneously helped create the tone.

I would love to see what you do that expresses a special time in your life -- how does your art journaling tell a story?

THIS is what I want my journal pages to look like! I'm in awe. I particularly love "give up war for Lent", that's wonderful. Amazing.

charlieandwillow - while I APPRECIATE the wonderful compliment --- always strive for YOUR pages to reflect YOU and not another artist  Grin What ALWAYS stands out to me is finding an art journalist who is TRULY UNIQUE. I see so MANY whose art looks just like the current "popular" artists who get all the publicity. It's not that artists fault..people just seem to want to imitate instead of reaching deep and being creative -- you know what I mean?

Also, lovely blog - hope you continue to post there!

Victoria - I think that is one of the coolest aspects of art journaling...experi menting and discovering your style.
